About the project

NoMAD MOVIE ART 2022 was the first collaboration between Split Nomad Gallery and the Mediterranean Film Festival Split – FMFS.

As part of the project, artists interpreted selected movie classics in digital format through various media, from graphic design and illustration to photography and typography.
Their artwork did not necessarily have to contain the information a traditional movie poster should, but instead needed to instantly allude to the film they were interpreting.
The signed, limited-edition posters exhibition premiered at the 15th edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival Split held at the Bačvice Open Air Cinema, where they were available for purchase at promotional prices.

The artists combined film and visual art, producing diverse and original pieces, but also offering a space for creative, interdisciplinary exchange with the audience, attracted by the timeless theme of film classics. After the the festival, the exhibition was housed by a multipurpose space Smartspace in the center of Split July through October, where it greated local audiences as well as thousands of interested visitors from abroad.
